IIM Indore welcomes its 14th Batch

Yet again, it’s that time of the year when institutes welcome deserving candidates to join in and start a milestone in both their lives. The Indian Institute of Management, Indore, extended a warm welcome to its fourteenth batch since 1996. The batch is marked in its diversity across gender, background domains and level of experience and forms a healthy mix for a great learning environment. The participants were inducted into the program with an induction program held over two days from 12th July, 2011.The event was inaugurated by a welcome address by Dr. N. Ravichandran – Director, IIM Indore which was followed by a welcome speech by Dr. L. V. Ramanna, the PGP – Chair.

This was followed up by a commencement address by the Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh Mangaleswaran, Director, McKinsey & Company (India). Mr. Ramesh inspired the new batch by sharing his experiences. He described his life divided into three important phases and shared his journey from childhood till date. He cited various examples from his life emphasizing the importance of focus and determination as pre-requisites for success. The session was informative and the participants found the session as an apt start to their MBA experience at IIM, Indore.

Subsequently, the members of the faculty from the various functional departments were introduced to the participants. It was then followed by briefing on Computing, Library and other facilities provided by the Institute to the students. The students were also informed about the Security Norms as well as the Government of India directive on ‘Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging’. The first day was concluded on a positive note.

The second day- 13th July – the day started off by a briefing by Dr. L. V. Ramanna, the PGP – Chair followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Abha Chatterjee, Chair for Hostel & Student Affairs.  The commencement address was given by Ms. Neelima Khetan, Former Chief Executive Officer – Seva Mandir, a voluntary organization based in Udaipur, Rajasthan. She shared her experiences with the new batch on how she pursued her journey in the field of service and philanthropy. The day concluded with a Mentor – Participant Interaction, an initiative taken by the institute whereby a group of students are assigned a faculty as their mentor for the two years at IIM Indore.

  1. bhai jyada english aati nahi magar aisa lag raha hai ki ye kisi angrezi ke maha pandit ne likha hai!!!!!
    acha ek baat aur bataega, hum logon ne iss saal admission liya hai samwat 2010 mein liya tha…
